powerGateServer returns "Specified value has invalid CRLF characters"

Description

When sending any request to powerGateServer it returns the error "powerGate.Erp.Client.WebRequestException: The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is 'Specified value has invalid CRLF characters.

Cause

This happens on some systems in the following known situations

* License is activated online or has 30 days or less left

* The user, running powerGateServer doesn't have access to our license server, while using online activation

* powerGateServer service is running as the System user

Solution 1

This issue was fixed in powerGateServer v26.0.4.Install this version or a newer version to resolve this issue

Solution 2

If it's not possible to update powerGateServer you can do one of the following:

- Extend your license and contact coolOrange support.

- Use the powerGateServer Console instead of running powerGateServer as a service.

- If it is the user's connection make sure the user that runs powerGateServer is able to contact our license server. Usually firewalls or proxy servers are responsible, though it is also plausible that a windows user might not have internet access at all.

- If that is not possible use the offline activation.
